Gear and Garb

I am not sure were you all at, but I have a long ways to go and much to learn on this subject. On the last few outdoor expeditions I have found that my shells, my sleeping bag, and a few other things are lacking, or just too old. So we can see where we are at here and bounce ideas off one another.

I have all the fun stuff... Now gotta look at some of the layers and things like parka and boots, rei dividends just came out with a 20% off coupon(expires in two weeks) but that's gonna help with the more expensive stuff

I'm thinking I want to creep the clothing simple with just a good shell and pants with layers. I don't know much about the parka, but it is August... What have you learned about this mat?
